dreamers are us!

finally got through fanny och alexander in two installments. it's a three hour long ingmar bergman film in swedish. tried watching it a while ago with noah and we just couldn't handle it. it's rather drawn out. the second half gets going a little better though. and it's one of those the-ending-makes-it-worth-it sort of movies. in fact one of the reasons i wanted to see it was for the reference to strindberg's "a dream play" at the very end that rudy quoted in his blog. i was stoked on the mention of hylozoism and would have liked the movie more if it had more reference to that and to transcending time and space. and less boring soliloqy by the grandmother character.
